The Power of the Giants

When we created the power of the giants project I was overwhelmed with pictures, video and tons of information from all over. It was quite a sight to see from interviewing Joe Foy to traveling various locations just to get that perfect picture or video.
The first shirt created was a story in itself for us. I guess going through all the little processes, trial and error, adventures and so on in the end we came up with the Mother Cedar picture on the front and the info packed back of the shirt.
The only thing that bothered me was that the Mother Cedar was a tree that was located in Vancouver, British Columbia and as we are fighting to protect all our ancient trees in this area which is a huge concern of ours, there was also a tremendous amount of ancient trees just as important all over the world under threat and we wanted to promote all these old growth forests as well.
From the tropical rainforests of Brazil to the Giant Sequoias and Redwoods of California, to the huge Eucalyptus trees of Australia. These forests need our help and we wanted to create something that would describe that our whole planet needs to be aware of this desperate situation.
That meant to come up with an idea that can advertise such a dilemma. The problem is that we are situated in British Columbia and as much as I would love to see the ancient trees of the world, money is not a luxury, so we are subject to information and pictures of others to rely on, at this time. (Which by the way I must Thank everyone who helped us out in the making of this project from around the world. Without your help we would only have half a project.)
Then along came the thought of putting our Protect the Forest Group logo on the top right of the shirt. This logo which is the top branch of a old cedar snag, it is a standing dead tree which becomes home for many birds, insects and small mammals. I thought that this resembles life after death in such a positive way that it would be a great way to start our new shirt. Anyone in any part of the world can relate to this type of regeneration.
The next step was to try to explain that we have forest issues all over the planet. That brought forth that Planet Earth has giant trees and they are unique and to me and many others from scientists to nature enthusiasts or anyone who has seen a giant tree before can surly understand.
They are wonders of the world. They have been here since the begining of time. They were here when the pyramids were built. Some of our ancient trees, if they could talk, would tell us so may stories. We are sure that when wearing one of our info-wear shirts you will spread all the positive informative facts to help reduce the destruction of our unique and threatened ancient trees.

We will give a shirt away! Once a month!
